About Me

For starters, my name is Matt and welcome to The Oscar Code! I have been passionate about film ever since I was a young kid. I remember being intrigued by what was behind the box (or television set) every time I watched a show or film growing up. That curiosity led to a passion, which led me to be apart of the Television Productions class at my high school and then pursued film in college.

However, while I did some freelancing after my undergraduate career, it proved to be difficult finding a full time job in film production. I ended up finding work as a Quality Engineer. While the work proved to be difficult at first, I ended up getting the hang of it and have been working in that field for a decade now. That career choice led me to pursue my MBA, PMP (Project Management Professional), and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificates. All of those combined introduced me to a skillset that helped me find trends and make everyday decisions based on data.

I have combined my passion of film and my career working with data to create The Oscar Code. I have watched the Academy Awards annually since middle school. I was shocked in my early years of watching why certain films beat more well known and more acclaimed films every year. College was where I discovered the guild process. If a certain film wins particular guilds, it will likely win Best Picture. I look forward to showing this process through case studies, podcasts, and videos. Thank you again for checking out the website and stay tuned to learn more how “The Oscar Code” can be broken before your next Oscar party or Oscar parlay.
